STOP THE QUARRY NOW!

We are a group of concerned citizens of Limestone County, Alabama, who have come together to stop the very dangerous Belle Mina rock quarry from being permitted by local and state officials.

The Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) is in the final stages of permitting a DANGEROUS rock quarry in Belle Mina. Our community must act NOW if there is any chance of stopping this permit. We demand that the Belle Mina rock quarry be stopped immediately.

TAKE ACTION TODAY
Everyone Will Lose: Our Families Will Pay the Price
Your Property Values/Our Health Are at Stake

We believe our families have too much to lose if this quarry is built: rock quarry blasting and explosives will make property values plummet and businesses close. Blasting will damage our homes and buildings, our air and water quality will suffer, sinkholes will appear, and there will be constant explosions.

Help Save Our Community!

This rock quarry ultimately threatens the health and safety of our families.

We need you to do two things:

First, contact the Limestone County Commission, the only local body with the power to stop this quarry TODAY. Why are they waiting?

Two, contact ADEM and attend the public hearing at 6 P.M., March 7, at Calhoun Community College in Tanner. (Full details are below.)

WHY WON’T THE LIMESTONE COUNTY COMMISSION HELP?

CONTACT THE COMMISSION TODAY. THERE IS NO TIME TO WAIT!

We believe the Limestone County Commission has the power to save our community but has refused to act on this issue.

The permitting process could take years, dividing our community and causing unnecessary worry, anguish, and stress.  However, the Limestone County Commission can stop the quarry TODAY by adopting measures to regulate quarry blasting. The Commission can end this issue NOW.

Under Alabama state law, the Commission can adopt measures to limit blasting in our community with terms and conditions. Call or email your commissioners TODAY and DEMAND they stop the Belle Mina rock quarry.
